German Govt Considers Fines/Jailtime for Video Game Violence?

I should probably just take this with a grain of salt, because I'm sure it's just one crazy politician proposing this, but it is silly either way. According to the article, in Germany they are looking into a bill that would outlaw video game violence. To our German friends, good bye Counter-Strike and everything we play here at TG. I highly doubt such an extreme law would pass, but its amazing how quick people are to use video games as a scapegoat to blame real life violence on.

I'm curious. Does anyone here know if Germany has tight restrictions on violence in other media, such as TV and film? If so, are those restrictions by law or simply cultural taboos?
