Read the Indictment section, in which the grievances against the crown are enumerated. Notice how we could make most of the same complaints against today's Federal Government? What did we gain? We just exchanged one master for another.

Christ, ScratchMonkey, I hardly feel that's the subject of the thread.

While I do find it funny, a larger part of me considers it to be condescending US bashing. Maybe Americans should write something similar regarding Great Britain. Though I am sure, coming from us, it would be seen to be hostile and lame.

And for the record I would LOVE to see a version of this for the British. Heh, even a Scottish version. A little part of me finds it even more funny that people can be offended by something like this. They are just jumping into another stereotype of Americans which is senseless-patriotism.

There's patriotism and then there is senseless-patriotism. I'm proud to be Scottish but I can take a joke. *SOME* people (Scots included, I'm sure) feel that any dig at their country is some kind of bitter attack when it is in reality simply observational humour.

Scottish stereotype is a backwards ginger guy with a kilt and spear, English stereotype is a posh toff, American stereotype is a overly patriotic guy.
