Re: Personal contingency plan

Whatever gun you get, put some thousands of rounds through it at a range. The time will fly by, and you'll soon know it inside and out. Being comfortable with your own firearm means that you'll be less likely to hurt yourself or anyone else.

Before you purchase, try spending some time with a semi-auto pistol. They are very reliable these days (for a price) and so much easier to shoot. Or just get both :]

Re: Personal contingency plan

See I thought a shotgun and $10k cash was pretty good but the pez sling shot combines carrot and stick into a single entity. It's...it's just the most elegant solution...too beautiful...they should have sent a poet...

Re: Personal contingency plan

Living in San Francisco and watching what happened in New Orleans has taught me that to stay around in a BIG diaster would be not-healthy. I am no fan of Waiting for help as my primary source of salvation. The wife and I who are avid cyclers have a plan. Get the hell out before the water runs out (ASAP.)
We can easily ride 70mi/day with gear enough to eat and sleep for 5 days. The Kid will slow us down but we figure we can exit the disaster area pretty fast if we are not injured.

If you need a hand look at the end of your arm before you ask for help (unknown)

Re: Personal contingency plan

Four pages and I don't see a single good plan for a zombie invasion. This thread is useless! Fortunately, I'm prepared.
