Re: Have bad grades? Don't shop at this Gamestop.
At my school we were always graded on ability (A-D) and effort (1-4), with the former being the best. Prizes and rewards were always based purely upon the effort grade. They accepted the fact that some people were not as academically bright as others, so there was no shame attached to a C1, but if you got a B3 you'd be in serious trouble.
I like the idea this guy has about rewarding those who do well, but like previous posters I feel it is unfair to reward people for what are their natural gifts. I mean if you're lucky enough to be a straight A student with little effort it seems crazy to then further lavish you with free stuff, whilst those that try their hardest but still fall short get nothing.

Re: Have bad grades? Don't shop at this Gamestop.
From the business end of things, I think he's got the right idea. PR stunt or not.
I'd love to see the sales charts for his store. I'd be willing to bet that he actually got an increase of sales. Gamestop prob only shut him down because some district manager didn't like the idea of not getting credit for it. His excuse on paper though was because of the "negative" press being generated from it. |
