Heh, I didn't realize Global Warming created arson related fires.

Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread

I am now of the opinion that Sol is responsible for global warming on this globe and many others, and that various human parties are exploiting this to tax carbon so that they can make money off of it in an environmentally friendly way.

Now I'd like someone to correct me.

1) I believe that the high profile carbon offset companies are non-profits.
2) The people who own these companies are not typically associated with the scientists conducting climate research.

That should about do it.

Do what? You haven't proven that the sun isn't causing global warming. Go ahead and try to prove that the sun isn't causing global warming. I triple dog dare you. Solve the sun problem and you solve the gw problem I say.

I was only responding to the second statement, my mistake for not making it clear.

It's OK. It's a complex issue.

Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread

I should point out though that being a "non-profit" organization doesn't actually mean you don't make a profit. It mostly means your profit isn't taxed. The fact that you have called your carbon offset business a Non-Profit business doesn't mean you are not still exploiting the Global Warming issue for financial gain.

Is temperature warming? According to Bob Carter, "It Depends." He's a geologist who works with sea floor cores and gets into some of the myths behind global warming.

So... Just how much do you think the globe has warmed?

Is all that jibberish for real?

Anyway, Lucky's post is pretty interesting, although nothing groundbreaking there. Climate change, as just about anyone might imagine, is dependent upon one's perspective and the context into which that perspective is drawn from.

I have a hypothesis. Could it be that all these hundreds of scientists making up the IPCC's consensus are simply taking a limited perspective (the narrow view that shows rapid climate change only over a recent time period) to the bank in the name of trying to change public behavior with regard to general environmental awareness? I wonder. Even if true, though, I'd still back it. We're choking on our own trash. We can do better.

Isn't that exactly what I was saying in the last thread? That the IPCC knows that they can't prove global warming, but that they are pushing the idea for general environmental reasons?

Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread

Barbara Boxer is pushing for a Carbon Trading Scheme due to a kid receiving an infection in a lake, and to arson related fires in California... errr... global warming. So what impact did "Global Warming" have on California this past month? According to James Watts, a California weatherman, temperatures were cooler then normal and in many places received twice the rain they normally would.

http://wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com...rnia/#more-375

Perhaps Global Warming assisted firemen in their efforts this past season.

Yes it was. I'm starting to think you might be right on that. Is it working though? I think it very well might be, and I think that's a good thing. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's deceptive, but I guess in this day and age deception is still the weapon of choice.
