Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread
Democracy only operates if the public has accurate information. So, every time the Bush Administration edits government science reports, when the Heritage Foundation holds fake climate conferences, and when cable and network news programs give equal time to presenting anti-science viewpoints, democracy is directly threatened.
The GOP runs the federal government to tell people what they can and can't do with their own bodies and minds. I can hardly imagine a government bigger and more overreaching than that. It's quite interesting that people who are afraid of the federal government think that they are Republicans. |

Democrats are BIG government. This is why those who are against federal meddling call themselves Republicans. The GOP only manipulates the government itself, Democrats manipulate the people. |

Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread
Nice backtrack there. So when the people vote against your position, its only because they've been fed propaganda and are now threatening democracy. But the people who vote for your position have of course never been fed any pro-global-warming propaganda, and their votes reflect true democracy. The left has always had an interesting definition of "democracy".

It sounds that you have gotten all your information through those things you rail against. The media, political people and a couple showboat scientists. In this and most other discussions about this topic almost all the information presented are nothing more than fractured facts and misinterpreted blurbs from scientific papers usually interpreted by untrained bloggers, journalists and forum posters.

Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread
Man it annoys me how people go on about the green movement is this economic conspiracy designed to make a quick buck for the environmentally friendly industrial complex. Damn them to hell... if only all businesses were as ethical as the oil conglomerates that work so hard to do whats best for everyone.

LordKelvin, I've been trying to continue the discussion about predictions and tests regarding your ozone hypothesis. I've asked for your input three times but never seen a direct reply.

Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread
I've been alternately sidetracked, lazy, and lost in the sea of irrelevant posts.
I'll post again on the issue tomorrow, right now I'm way too spent to be able to post a coherent argument. |

Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread
Is this the thread that we were talking about solar activity and radio transmissions? I think so.
Anyway, I love the title of this article. We're killing her and she's crying: Earth's cries recorded in space.

Re: The Most Extra New Super Global Warming Thread
That's what I thought when I saw that headline too. Then I actually read the article and it has nothing to do with man hurting the earth, just purely natural astronomical events. Over-cynicism for the win!
