Re: cs_Hockey

So we played it two times in a row. I'm liking it. It's not really one sided, because as ct both times, we won some rounds and got destroyed some rounds. I think it's well rounded enough. Could use a couple different entrances from the outside, but not completely necessary.

Re: cs_Hockey

yeah it seemed like a good map. It has some nice hidey holes and good pick spots. The choices for hostages are a bit slim though.

Re: cs_Hockey

yea, this is a very good map... But damn is it dangerous to be in that hockey rink! Not at all one-sided. PLUS I found the perfect sniping position for a T and i'm not telling!!!

Re: cs_Hockey

Great map, but it has some serious problems with shadows.

Re: cs_Hockey

Yeah shadows are not that great when you're on CT cats T's can see you from a mile away. All in all this is a very well 1 rounded map, but if only we could disable the sounds in the middle which some people go a little nuts and ignore the rest of the team and there jobs just to make a some music play.

Re: cs_Hockey

I have to agree with the shadows bit, they give T's a huge advantage on the left side as a CT. The T's just have to watch the floor to know somoene is there and as you can not see your own shadow, you never know it, until a nade bounces off the door jam next to your face.

Re: cs_Hockey

I don't really see shadows as that much of a problem since it works both ways sooner or later, still enough routes to take without that upper cat and since you can snipe T's through the vent you need not take the top of cat's anyway.

I like the map alot tbh.

Re: cs_Hockey

I was refering to the only two routes into the left side hostages, not the catwalk. A T can see CT's long before the CT can see his enemy. Plus, if the CT's give up the left side, all they can really do is assault the Ice Rink from cats, the right door or the middle hallway.

Wait do you mean the left side for the CT's ? I assault that way everytime lol I didn't realise the T's could see me there, where abouts am I being spotted?

I fact I have found the T's sitting against the hostage room wall can be seen through since it's such a thin wall so I guess it's even lol.

Re: cs_Hockey

They can see you in as you enter the small room CT side of the hostage room. And the Hallway that passes by the pop machine. Your shadow goes through the door before you do. It's just how the shadow is angled. I've noticed it a few times now, following other CT's on that left side. To me that's a huge disadvantage cause realistically those shadows would not be that pronounced inside a building.

Re: cs_Hockey

I like how the shadows play a big part on this map. You really have to keep in mind that the opposition might know you are there. But there are some problematic points. The vents and both sides of the catwalk area, for example. Your shadow shows through, letting the opposition know you are there long before you even come close to the entrance. Another spot is that dark doorway in the spawn hallway. It looks like a good spot to sit, since it masks you well. But the shadow illogically shows up on the wrong side, and gives your position away.
