Re: CS_Covert
Covert is a pretty tough map for the CTs and at times it seems that you are doing nothing but running and gunning. But like ive told many people, rushing is considered a plan even though it may not seem very pcs =P. Thats what makes covert hard for me sometimes is that sometimes the only way to infiltrate a room is by flashing/smoking it then rushing right in after it.
well i hope this map doesn't get taken off rotation and agreeing with sloppy i would love to see cs_negotiator again.

Re: Server Issues - Bug report
Element that is not a product of the server. It is most likely this map showing a problem on your computer.

Re: CS_Covert
I don't see the difference between Covert and any other maps we play. It's a different scenario.
Some maps favor CTs.
Some maps favor Ts.
Just because it doesn't have 14 million routes to take doesn't mean it isn't a "PCS map". Whatever that's supposed to mean.
That's what attracted me to the TG-style of Counterstrike in the first place: taking these deathmatch maps and turning them into something completely different.
You CANNOT tell me that _covert is any way different than any other hostage maps we play. Office, Italy, kismayo, whatever else.

Re: CS_Covert
I actually prefer unbalanced maps significantly over perfectly balanced ones. It's a lot more fun to plan and win a round "against all odds". The fun is in the challenge!

Re: CS_Covert
I'm personally on the fence with this map. I like playing on this map as a CT for the challenge of rescuing the hosties. However, from the T's side in the dark room, all they need is at least two to three people to keep the whole thing locked down as Delta did nearly by himself with a Scout.
(props to you Delta for taking nearly a whole team with your Scout.)The reason I call myself "the village idiot"? Name a teamate I haven't accidently shot yet.

Re: CS_Covert
It's been said a few times, there are several maps that with a front set thats easy to grab and a back set that become a last stand for the T's. Dont think we can start deleting maps based on that. Good map I think.

Re: CS_Covert
If you let one scout take out your whole team at that last short hallway, you need to try making plans before running in there alone. If you have even two people left, you can win it. This is a challenge to anyone who plays CT on this map; let me know if you succeed.

Re: CS_Covert
Vents! Vents! Vents! Basicaly when you start the round as CT's buy some armour and take to the vents in the garage. 7 people on a team = 3 teams of 2 and 1 lone ranger. You have three entrances into the mid area, they are as follows:
fish tank room
Right side office room (entrance to room is through right side vent)
Left side office room (entrance to room is through left side vent)
These are the three ways your two man team hit. Your lone ranger will be taking the far vent into the back hostage room. The choise of guns is vital, your fish tank team should have your rifles because they have some shots all the way up the hall ways. The side room teams would be better off with close/mid range guns, SMGS or the FAMAS spring to mind. You lone range should have a gun with anough ammo so he won't run out because he is going to be behind enermy lines P90/MG would work well.
The basic idea is to swarm the middle rooms with as many guys as possible so that the T's have to bring men forward to try and push you back, while your lone ranger smokes and flashes the dark room then enters and swipes hostages from behind them and then charges into the T's backs (hence why you need a gun with alot of ammo).

Have you tried this yet, or did you just make this up now?

I like the map even tho the last set is very hard to get unless the Ts are off sleeping somewhere.

Re: CS_Covert
I haven't played cs_covert with real people on a proper game ever. I have been joining this server waiting until the map pops up.
Just now it did, the next map was cs_covert. I was excited until some admin decided to stick up a map vote. It failed, so they stuck up another until the next map was changed. This has never happened to me while being in the server and only when cs_covert was next. I find this extremely disrespectful and all the work I put into the map has pretty much gone to waste considering some admin doesn't want to play it just puts up votes.
A player named RHZ was also disrespectful, didn't appreciate how much time us level designers really put into our maps, saying cs_Covert "sucks" etc. It took me one year to complete cs_covert. All I wanted to do was have a turn of it with real people and watch them use tactics I've never encountered on my own map, but no.
Unbelievable. I'm extremely disappointed in that admin.
