Re: IL2:1946 starting anew,
I had a lot of fun last night. Thanks for changing up the difficulty to accomodate the noobness. Too many years of SP play on arcade settings. I'll practice some during the week and we can do it again next week.

Re: IL2:1946 starting anew,
Okay, I finally had time to download to get it installed, but do I need to download any addons or expansions or anything? Right now I just have the base steam version... Thanks.

Re: IL2:1946 starting anew,
Not sure which version the Steam version is - nor even if there is a specific means of updating it (like ArmA: Steam apparently handles the updates).
If it's v4.08, what I'd recommend is head over to allaircraftarcade.com and download their unified installer. It's eight files, the first of which is an executable. Once you have all eight downloaded, just run the exe and the other seven will be called automatically. You will then have the same mods that we are running, as well as the version switcher, enabling you to easily change between 4.08 and 4.09.
Hope this helps - any questions, feel free to ask!

Re: IL2:1946 starting anew,
Every now and then when on a pub server you can find someone willing to use some teamwork. I found a guy named Dallas and we both grabbed some A-20s and did some low level ship bombing. I'm #24 he's #1.

Re: IL2:1946 starting anew,
I got the AAA unified installer and can play with or without mods @4.08 or 4.09 but my key binds seem to have gone AFK. Chocks and wheel locks etc are no longer bound. I have a Logitech 3D pro Joystick. Can someone post their key binds?

Re: IL2:1946 starting anew,
I use the 1,2,3,4 keys for some of the misc tasks.
1 - open/close canopy
2 - arresting hook
3 - toggle wingfold
4 - toggle chocks
Those keys are used for throttle so since you're using a joystick anyway you won't need them for throttle.
Shift + U - Lock Tailwheel
[NUM] * - Attack/ Detach Aircraft
You'll also need to bind a key to 10% throttle is rebound in the AAA UI to open/close your bomb bay doors.

Re: IL2:1946 starting anew,
Do you guys use Hyperlobby or do you use some other method to "find" each other?

Re: IL2:1946 starting anew,
No, just haven't been on in the past 2 weeks. Lots going on for me. Hopefully soon, I'll be back online. The guys use varying methods for connecting when I'm not hosting. Sometimes Barnacle hosts, other times, HyperLobby.
Just hop on TS on Thursday and into the IL2 channel (usually someone creates one that night) and they'll inform which method to use.
