Discussion: Other Multiplayer Games / Simulation Games (Sim) - Looking for some decent pilots.... - Anyone wanna fly sometime? Comms on ventrillo. Join through hyperlobby but private hosted games. Anyone?
I'm always up for some flying. However I use teamspeak and I'm not familiar with ventrillo. What sort of games are you guys running? COOP (ie. us v the AI), or dogfight (and if DF, is it airquake or are their mission goals).
Pacific Fighters merged install. IL2-->AE-->PF. We are about to start a campaign and go all the way through the war. Typically it is COOP however they are about to start up the JG13 which will be for those that want to fly axis. There are mission objectives and not just airquake. Good stuff. Also, ventrillo is easy to use. VERY!
Are you flying the campaign's that came with the game? If so be aware that there are 45 minutes of doing nothing, 5 minutes of action, then 45 minutes flying back to the carrier.
We tried this and the DCG and could never find any acceptable use. 1 - 1.5 hours of flying doing nothing is too much. It's frustrating as well because it stopped us from bothering with the campaigns. Tried the DCG that someone made, and got closer missions but there's no carrier to tale off and land on - it's air start and air finish.
Have you found any campaigns that'll hold 6-10 players and don't require a massive flyout?
Roger. I am not the one but there are others (more dedicated than I) that have created these missions and continue to do so based on true historical events. It is very interesting and quite difficult at times. Also, we ROUTINELY take off and land on carriers in campaigns.

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
