Formation Flying
As something a little different I'd like to try some formation flying this weekend. To acheive this think about the following
The formation leader will set the formation speed, perhaps at 95% throttle (which should allow rear compoments to catch up with out going to afterburner)
Use the speed and height hold for practice runs, ending up without using these if possible.
Remeber that small adjustments are the order of the day, you should be able to hold formation with just using the throttle
Grab some skins - below is a good skin for a display flight.
Go here for the F15 NASA skin

Or here if that link doesn't work.

Install it with Lomac 2.0, which you can get from here

The formation leader should not determine speed with throttle setting.... speed hold is better suited for that. Set a target speed, hit that speed and set speed hold. This allows everyone else to form up on you and set their speed to maintain with you instead of constant throttle jockeying back and forth trying to find where they need to be.

yeah my thoughts exactly Logical... my thinking is when jets do fly formation they would use the hight and speed hold etc etc...
so why do we have to try and do it the hard way... and when you say 95% well yeah but unlike in il2 you dont have a gage telling you id you are at 95 % or not... so you may over shoot or slow down too much... just makes for sloppy flying... hight and speed hold are what should be used.
