Damn, I just start to mod IL2 and then they announce another.

VJ day is coming.

Re: Pacific Fighters

I wonder if it will be a stand-alone, or an expansion, along the lines of Ace Expansion pack

lomac is only up because it has its own box... tomorrrow things are changing... lomac has not got any better software than il2 they both require an admin.. tomorrow we should have a box for both games and we will have to share air time between il2 and lomac.

let me reitterate...lomac and il2 have the same kind of soft ware... lomac is up because it got its own box... couldnt do it with il2 because it was on with bF1942...lomac lacks dedicated server support just like il2...

.

Re: Pacific Fighters

From reading the other forums I gather that carriers take off's will be included. I'm not sure if it's an expansion or seperate game though - I'll check.

So, anyone believing that this project should be an add-on as opposed to a stand-alone product needs a serious reality check.

And before you begin to run around with your hair on fire and worry about splitting the community, whoever said that we're going to do such a thing? Nothing has been decided yet to the best of my knowledge. The only thing I can say at this point that the two products will be fully compatible and there's no technical limitations in the engine that would prevent a Bf-109 from flying over Iwo Jima or an Aichi Val over Leningrad.
From the PF forums.

Re: Pacific Fighters

And then I found this

Quote:
Regardless...Pacific is STAND ALONE product and separate title. Nothing could be done about it. It`s not addon, patch or whatever, it`s a separate product. But! I believe it is in OUR HANDS to have Pacific Fighters with all AEP features INCORPORATED in it, meaning planes, ships, objects, maps...etc...etc.

Re: Pacific Fighters

That's cool, as long they are compatible. I'm drooling at the prospect of being able to make missions using ALL the IL-2 FB and Pac. Fighters planes, objects, maps etc. So many toys, so little time.
