Flight Team - New Take-Off Procedure
From the post LeeJo put up ('formation flying') I have been reading about the take-off procedure they use.
From now on we'll be adopting the same procedure. This is achieved by holding down the brake and throttling up to 95%. We either use the time or Lead calls out the order to roll. If lead calls, make sure your throttle is set slightly higher so you can catch up if needed. Use your wheel brake if you need to. It's quite hard trying to zoom into the RPM readout, adjusting the throttle and holding the wheel brake at the same time but this can be achieved by setting your joystick up beforehand. Taking your finger off the brake rather than throttling up makes a lot more sense and so far seems to have worked out really well. |
