Re: Racing Sims

I've raved about the MOMO endlessly. It's what I use and what several TG'ers ended up getting. Can't say enough good things about it. Pricey, but if you can afford it, or find a used one, I recommend it.

Though, I am salivating over the yet to be released G25. Love love love...

Re: Racing Sims

Yeah, logitech is killing me with their new G- lineup.. that keyboard, the mice (got one!) and now that steering wheel. Bastards!

I think MOMO will be the way I'll go. Found a nice deal online, save myself about 30 bucks, but will have to wait a maximum of 2 weeks for it. Not a problem for me, just one a couple races in the demo this morning with they joystick :P My best run had me finish 57 seconds ahead of the pack on a 7 lap run.

GTR2 demo had me for a few hours last night aswell... looks like there are two games I need to get. GT-L will be the definate though, I can't get enough of those cars!

heh on a closing note; "Horsepower is the force that determines how fast you hit the wall. Torque is the force that determines how far you take the wall with you after you hit it."

Re: Racing Sims

I think you'll be very happy with that wheel.

I should add that we're playing on Professional level difficulty. Don't know if your win vs AI was on that level. Just FYI - I don't want it to be a shock for you when jumping in on League games the first time.

Re: Racing Sims

Playing at novice right now and its a little too easy... I blame the joystick (and I sure as hell can't drive with the keyboard). Get me behind a wheel and I bet I can play with the big boys!

EDIT: That's in the SM-only section, Rocket. He can't see it til his SM status gets renewed.

Smile Re: Racing Sims

I'm just getting to know TG as a World of Warcraft player, but I just do that to get away from my sim racing! Glad to see you guys have a presence. I know at least one other race, Vondoom, that's a TG member. I picked up GTR@ last weekend and think it will be a hit. Let me know when you run a GTR2 race, as I'd enjoy some friendly racing!

Re: Racing Sims

Thanks for stopping by borghest. Glad you had a few minutes to chat on TS. I'll be sure to post in this forum when we hold an open session. If I remember to, I'll try and PM you to bring it to your attention.

Thanks for your interest. Welcome to TG!

I am so getting this one.

Re: Racing Sims

Some of the 'news'/speculations I've read are skeptical. Though Simbin is publishing it, apparently it's not the same design team (10tacle) that did GTL/GTR2.

I'm waiting for more info before getting excited.

Re: Racing Sims

Actually, I think Simbin is the developer and 10tacle is the publisher - but you're right that the design team probably isn't the same one that did GTR1+2 and GTL. It might still be good, but I wouldn't think it's the automatic lock that a Simbin designed game most likely would be.

Re: Racing Sims

Yeah, I could have the names mixed up. But as you say, some suttlebutt circulating around says it's not necessarily a top-shelf product given the unclear dev info.

I'll have to see if I can locate what I read (it was one of those totally tangent discoveries whilst looking up GTL/GTR2 stuff).

Re: Racing Sims

I play Richard Burns Rally. (rip)

I like rally and RBR is a great rally sim. I just wish they had more cars and stages.
