Not a mispelling...it's German for soldier. I remeber seeing this game in PC GAMER last year and was looking forward to it coming out. Now it is out...and has been for awhile but have not heard to many things about it. It's cheap so that means it's not all good but I don't need much to be entertained.

Any opinions on this one?

A few of us tried the beta a while back. It really sucked. There were problems with network connections and the game play wasn't all too interesting. The third-person view didn't satisfy me and switching to first-person didn't feel right. On top of that, the graphics weren't great. Last I heard, the retail wasn't much different.

Yeah, it was a major let down because the pre-release movies and screenshots looked pretty damn good. The demo was just a waste.

Apparently they've made some changes and they updated the demo since the first wreck. I may go back and check it again.

Well...I got it...it was only 19.99 Canadian. The ability to personalize your "Soldner" is very detailed and the game play is sort of Joint Opish...and I hate Joint Ops. It does have some possibilities....still very early in the game. The maps are in comparrison with flashpoint as well as the iron sights. I needed a change from having to rely on the internet...I'm on my 5th day of quitting smoking and I found I was just getting irritated with everyone i came across online...friends included.

The flight and driving physics are very bad...the wepons are cool as is the meter for full sprint, in that you can't run and gun forever. I don't know...I need a smoke...shut the f--k up.

Good for you to quit smoking! Maybe it'll soften your voice a bit.

I did try the SP of Soldner for a bit and it was ok... The real problem is that stupid portal system for online play. You have to log on to that piece of crap to get on a server. If it goes down, and it did during the demo days and early retail, you're screwed even if you're already connected to a server. I don't know if they've fixed it since then.

They've done quite a lot since the beta and the game is actually pretty stable and a lot of fun if played with the right people. I've tried getting a server running but have had some issues with it launching the game properly.. If some people are interested in checking it out again here, I'll give the server another go and see what I can do...
