Re: Soldner - Secret Wars
Isn't this the game that was a terrible disappointment when it came out? I remember all kinds of hype and claims of 100-player servers and such, then a release which featured excuses and promises for future improvements. Am I thinking of the right game? Does this renewed interest mean that the game actually did improve?

Re: Soldner - Secret Wars
You are correct. The game was rushed, and people quickly lost interest. Unlike many other developers, however, they made good on the improvements claims.

I wish I could suggest to test the demo but it no longer works (MP only and demo servers are dead).

Looks interesting. I'm down to try out a new game. We gonna try for a TG Soldner night?

Re: Soldner - Secret Wars
Apo, what are the chances of putting up a TG demo server for a few nights (or do only the developers have access to the demo server files?)? If it's possible, it might spur enough interest to get more TG folks to buy the game.

Didnt they already say that the demo is horrible compared to what they have achieved with the patches?

Re: Soldner - Secret Wars
I could do that, but I really fear it will turn more people off than attract them. The demo was HORRIBLE compared to what the game is now. Even when the game was released, it was a crapshoot getting it running and connected to a server.

Understood. In that case, I reckon I'll just buy it. Hopefully it'll be a sleeper hit.

Don't grab the demo, even if you can find it anymore, it doesn't work! Wal-mart has Semper-Fidelis Marine Corps for under $20.00. It is Soldner, but w/ the make over/patches. A good game for just $20! Includes a HUGE amount of real world weapons, vehicles, to play with.
What is the server ip so I can connect?

Time to pull out that dust-ridden Soldner disc from 2004?

Bought, installed and played. Apophis and I played for little over an hour. Had 6 total on the server. Great game.

Re: Soldner - Secret Wars
Played again late last night. We had 12 players on. Most of them were run and gun, capture all the flags kind of like a BF2 pubbie server. All in all had a great time.
Still have to figure out all the roles. Medic, support, scout etc.. The kits are similar to BF2. Medic's heal and support replenishes ammo and such.
Get a good commander and set up squads and it will be very good tactical game.
