    I played Lord of the Rings online and the Middle Earth atmosphere is great. A Star Wars MMORPG should provide all of that nostalgic value. I was tempted to try out Star Wars Galaxies but I heard a lot of negative stuff about it.

    WoW fanatic here, but also a SW fanatic. I'd really love to see something exciting happen in the MMO market - and something exciting happen with the Star Wars license. But in terms of Star Wars, it's in good hands with BioWare.

    Hi

    I loved SWG until the NGE. After the NGE I stuck it out for another 9 months or so.

    I'd love a decent star wars MMO, been following this with interest, though trying to avoid their forums as they seem to be filled with whiners for the most part.

    my favourite skillset in SWG was Rifleman/Ranger, not because it was great in a combat but because it allowed me to live in that world.

    I hope I can find something suitable in this

    Hey vulcan and rogue. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and have played pretty much all the games From X-wing alliance(I still have that) up to KOTOR. Didn't get #2 yet. I cannot wait for The Old Republic.

    This makes me want to go install my old SW flight sims.

    Glad to see you came after all X-wing vs. Tie Fighter ftw...you should definitely pick up KOTOR2, it's not made by Bioware (made instead by Obsidian Entertainment...i.e. Neverwinter Nights) but it was just as great imo.

    Kotor 2 was great, but the ending was pretty bad due to obsidion being forced to release it in time for the holidays. Still worth a play tho.

    I think I will, I love it how it's not $50 anymore. I've heard good things about KOTOR2. Is it as involved and long as KOTOR1? I remember first playing that game for a long time and getting really involved. I loved it.

    Took me around 30 hours for both games, and I was going at quite a relaxed pace. I think you could probably get 40 hours out of KOTOR 2 if you did absolutely everything. It didn't have that shiny new feel of KOTOR, but I found it equally as immersive.
