Plants vs. Zombies
I heard about this fun little PopCap game on the Gamers With Jobs podcast. It's sort of like a tower defense game, except it's a lot more straightforward. You earn one basic resource, sunshine, and place static units to fight off zombie hoards from your front yard.
It's a lot more fast paced and sophisticated than I had expected! It's only $10 from Steam. Lots of fun, in my opinion.

Re: Plants vs. Zombies
I've been disappointed in the lenght of the many Pop-Cap games, but after playing the demo I might just get this. It was fun and didn't get the feeling of repeating itself too fast!

Re: Plants vs. Zombies
OH..I have killed a few hours over the past week on this one... It even kept me away from L4D for about 3 days... Still only about half way through the special Plants after about 4-5 hours of play.. Plus the mini games are fun..

Re: Plants vs. Zombies
Played the hour-long trial edition and my clock must have been broken, cause it skipped straight from 4:30 to 5:30 in less than five minutes. I got up to level 2-3 (third level, second part) and from what I saw and what I've heard, it is really well-made. Apparently it has 20 (twenty!) different minigames including a L4D-esque 'endless survival' mode.
This is definitely on my 'must buy when exams are finished' list.
