Relic has purchased Homeworld from Vivendi
Although Relic developed the Homeworld games, the license was owned by Vivendi until now. Vivendi has sold the Homeworld license to Relic (who probably received some financial help from their owner and publisher THQ to buy the license) so Relic is now free to develop more Homeworld-related games.

Great news. I'm a big fan of this series. The first HW was really innovative. Not to mention pretty as hell.

Yes! After HW2, I was worried that the series was going to die off.

That is awesome. Relic really knows what they're doing with games (at least thus far) and Homeworld is a franchise that really deserves a star treatment.

I really didn't think HW2 was that great. It didn't have the same feeling of our-civilization-is-on-this-boat-in-the-middle-of-nowhere feeling too it just trying to stay alive.
