Re: Defcon?
Defcon is a great game! I started playing this week and really like the simple premise still giving loads of strategeic options. I also like the "end of the world" setting

Re: Defcon?
A fun one. The naval battles can be tough though!!

Yeah, it's really annoying that you can't hotkey ships or anything to a number, and you can't select more than one naval unit at a time.

Re: Defcon?
I think I heard that if you hold down shift while commanding a naval unit, all other ships in the fleet will follow the same command.

No more NORAD :'[
Bye-Bye NORAD.
WarGames, we salute you!
I just got the full version as well. Multiplayer with six players, jumping in and out of alliances (I was never a traitor myself, but the #1 player for the game defected from our alliance and nuked my entire country with an incredibly skillful surprise attack). Very fun.Last edited by Nikolas; 10-16-2006 at 07:54 PM.

Re: Defcon?
I've used the shift-click for subs, and can confirm it does work for those at least. Hold shift down the entire time while right clicking to bring up the menu, then clicking on MRM Launch Mode and this will set all of the group to launch mode at the same time. You can get some pretty nasty coordinated attacks using this.
I'm trying to figure out the ideal fleet composition - so far I tend to have one pure battleship group to soften up the main threat I'm expecting, and then put the remainder of the battleships in carrier groups to give them some AA capability. I have a few single carriers to do sub patrol duty near key cities as well.
I've been using the subs in groups of 3-4, usually 3 groups of 4. This keeps me from losing too many at once if the enemy defenses find them. Four subs in a group have a pretty good amount of striking power when they launch at once - at least one nuke almost always gets through. I tend to have 2 groups reasonably close together near my biggest expected threat direction. These two groups of subs can wreak havoc on defenses if I time it right and catch them busy elsewhere.BF2 POE2: NC_Tarheel
