acquired this game the uh...not-so-legal way...shall we say...definately good enough to consider buying and playing online...me and my buddies hooked up with the co-op and that was fun....
a few problems i have had though:
man...there are like...maybe 10 primary wepaons..wtf? 3 shotties, an m4, and probably 4 smgs and a pepper-paint ball gun... i guess thats only 9...very dissapointed in the lack of weaponry...all the other stuff though makes up for it...pepper spray, c4, this magic wand of looking under doorness...etc...

ai is decent i guess....they will kill hostages if you dont get them fast enough...its pretty fun...

The idea is to pacify the tango's - not kill them. You will get more points going in none-lethal but the game is actually easier that way. Lethal makes it a lot harder for the player (not sure about your AI). I find though that my AI won't engage with non-lethal, so I end up doing everything myself (or they all get killed and I have to finish off).

As for obtaining a copy, I think that's perfectly legitimate. Game Publishers release so much bugguy ****ty software these days that it's a prefectly valid way to test before you buy.

Section 8-the weapons are all different, and represent what I suppose are common tactical police weapons. The what they lack in number, they make up for in variety.

The three shotties are all quite different: a beanbag gun, a standard shotgun, and an assault type shotgun.

The there are 4 SMGs, the MP5, MP5 silenced, the silenced Uzi, and that german .45 gun who's name escapes me. That last one is what you use when you just don't care, and want to kill everything, which, as jex points out, is not the point of the game.

The MP5 and the Silenced MP5 are good all around weapons, but are slow to bring to shooting position. If you are in the research lab, you can get killed by the tangos coming around a corner and trying to bring the gun up. Which brings me to the Uzi. The least powerful of them all, but it lets you come quick to the firefight.

Then you have the M4 assualt rifle and the pepper ball gun.

That's a good mix of weapons, I think.

The AI is very agreessive by default. It will shoot you first, or shoot the hostages first, depending on how many you rush them with. I you seperate into fire teams, and come in different entrances, the AI will attack you.

Come as one team, the hostages will bear the brunt of the AI's venom.

As for the method of acquisition....did the same thing myself, so don't feel too bad. I usually test the game before buying it, either through demos or other means. Better to make an informed choice, than piss away $50. But once I decide I want it, I uninstall it, get the actual discs. There's no ethical difference between myself and the general pirates unless Sierra makes a sale.

Geebus. I got a copy a week ago and I haven't even been able to give it a real go. Hopefully tonight I can swing it.
