**The Guide to Guides (crafting included)**
This is the spot (for now) where we'll consolidate all the game-guides we find on other sites and even perhaps those we come up with ourselves.
Through the months leading up to release, one particular up and coming MMO site has done a VERY good job of providing info/guides/reviews for TR. That site is TenTonHammer.
There's no point in listing every single guide they've done, so simply scroll through what they've got available and find what you need. It's pretty extensive:
TenTonHammer Guides
The frontend of their TR support site is here:

Re: The Guide to Guides
I'd still like to see a guide about crafting. But it never seemed like it was done...
For instance, what exactly do the skills do? (Force Fields, Optics, Explosives, and medical)

Re: The Guide to Guides
Welcome to TG!
Force fields make force fields. Medical makes trauma kits, med kits, buffing stuff, etc. Explosives makes ammo, nades, and bombs. Optics recently got a name change I believe, and I'm not sure I remember what that does - perhaps weapons mods. Crafting was something most of us didnt fool with because it was undergoing so much tweaking.
But yeah, making a guide for it wouldnt really be wise until release. We can get a much better feel for things then. Hopefully they'll have the 'surplus' store active as well.
One thing I did learn while making my own Augmentation mats was that the profit margin is VERY slim unless you've got recipes for nearly ALL the mats, or have a source to give you the mats and/or recipes cheap. Nevertheless, there is room to make a few credits there if you've got the skill and materiel. It's an effect of the heavily tiered crafting system. One buff takes 3 mats and 1 recipe, and each one of those mats take 3 mats themselves and recipes, and so on and so on. Leave any mat/recipe out and your profit margin takes a dive. (moreso than I've seen in other games)
<sigh> Yeah, would be nice to have a guide wouldnt it... something we'll have to work on when we get in-game.

Re: The Guide to Guides
At this point it seems as though its more for personal use, rather than any kind of profit... Even when the Surplus is released...

Re: The Guide to Guides
That depends on how lazy people are. Many recipes rarely drop and some are hidden inside quest rewards (for now, most CP defense/assault quests yield recipes). Stuff like that will be the crux of the market.
Even though someone can easily clone a high lvl crafter, I'd say pump 5 crafted stuff will have a market as well.

**Crafting Guides**
Please place any and all crafting info. in this thread. Here are a couple useful guides I've found:
TabulaRasaPedia Crafting Guide
Stratics Crafting Forum
Crafting is still a bit of hit and miss. Some things just wont modify to certain other things and the rules that govern such are still a bit fuzzy. We'll figure it out though.

Re: **Crafting Guides**
So far, this is the definitive crafting guide (also from stratics):
TR Stratics Crafting Guide
This guide is actually supported by the Devs... so its word is bond right now.
