Some of you know that the betatesters held a few impromptu melee fighting competitions after a few beta-idea threads exploded with ideas relating to military boxing matches (which are fully endorsed by most RL military institutions).
Needless to say, the Devs listened and ran with the idea and started organizing their own bracketed competitions. There are even plans in the works for a boxing ring and palladium.
