Empires: Total War

Hey guys.

I've been a long lasting fan of the Total War series and since the next iteration is coming out next week and the demo has been live on STEAM for a few days.

I was just thinking if you guys tried it. You liked?
Ive been going through the demo a few times myself. I've been dying for a Total War game set in the 18th century and now we've got it.

They've added a new engine and, for the first time in a Total War game, there is naval warfare. Its awesome.

I've pre-ordered it on STEAM already.

I got a phone call a few years back (after Rome: Total War) asking for a customer survey, and I practically BEGGED the guy for a napoleoic Total War. I love these games, always have, nothing better than stuffing the French eh Xmaster?

Now I get to do it outside the walls of Quebec

I am excited, this could be the biggest game of the year for me! God I have wasted months of my life in Total War, more than all my PR and ArmA time combined!!

I just bought it also. The sucky thing is i won't be able to play it to this weekend because of work... blah.

Steam is NOT my friend, at nearly 12GB for the DL it would take me a week! Literally!

Oh and I made a TG group on steam for this game. will try to post an official statement tomorrow (if im not playing)

Went to my local game shop yesterday after having scraped enough cash together....they didnt have it! And I have nothing in my accout to buy it so I am going to have to wait until next week probably at the earliest. I have been waiting on this game for years and I can't get my damned hands on it!!

Xmaster and I played some multiplay last night in a 4v4 match and rolled through the opponents. We had the hardest fight i think by holding the right flank. The rest of the team endured a open field engagement which invovled lines of infantry firing on one another. Xmaster and me had to hold a hill position overlooking the open field which could have been used as a firebase if necessary. He and he managed to hold the line and setup an ambush by fulling a false retreat and letting enemy inf. run into hidden rangers and militia. He and I managed to destroy the right flank and circle around and hit the enemy as they tried to regroup to the rear.

I never played online with the prvious games, but this one is great and really allows for some great gameplay.
