The best I can get and this is pushing it really hard is 2:02, if I keep it up for a few laps my tires would be on fire.

oh that's kinda reassuring as i left the track on that 2m06. what's not reassuring is my inability to go a whole lap without making a mistake.

    time for some setup changes...

Join the club, I ran the 2:02 once. Most of the time I run a 2:05 or a 2:06 consistantly. I cant judge the corners right coming by the finish line and the next one. I either slow down to much or go to fast.

    Re: Vehicle Setup

The brake points I can nail but I'm used ot late breaking, it's more the two right handers (Trees and Miss Piggy I call them) that exit from slower corners that i seem to mess up and run wide on.

I just cannot nail that first corner tho - it's all over the place. Plus the tendnecy for it to 'thin' before the actual turn is psyching me into initiating a turn to stay ont he road before I have lifted off the brakes. The only alternative seems so slow I think I might actually have stopped for a cup of tea

edit: ok I think I think I have found out how to do the first corner. I'd love to see some of the lines you guys are taking tho.

Hey Rocket some night maybe like a practice night or something can you run down the progression that you use when setting up a vehicle. Like what you try first and so on. I am struggling with getting these cars setups.

    Re: Vehicle Setup

Wow Rocket that is quite a lap. If you can do that 20 times in a row I don't stand a chance.

I'm with turbo, I could use some advice on setup theory as well.

    Re: Vehicle Setup

I did a 20 lap run this morning, and I am telling you those tires are not happy around lap 15 and they are mad around lap 18........It is like riding a wild bull and yes you literally have to "grab life by the horns".

We need to keep in mind that it takes 2+ mins for a lap here and the total race time will exceed 40 mins not to mention the car is one of the heaviest in this class.

So you're saying we should run low tire pressure and lock the tires in every chicane?

    Re: Vehicle Setup

Here is the simplest beginner's vehicle setup guide I've found:

    Setup Matrix.

It covers some items (wing angle, duct size) that are not featured in GTL, but everything else has seemed to work very well for GTL.

    Edit: Grammar!
