Re: Magny-Cours GP Lap Times
I haven't had a chance to fire the game up since my last post. Hopefully I can start practicing on Thursday.
I've also made the decision to not try and compete with you (Turbo & Rocket). I'm just not that fast yet. You guys make it look so easy, I think I should be able to do as well. In trying to be, I make really costly mistakes.
I don't mind coming in at the bottom of the field so long as it's not due to easily avoidable screwups. Me vs. my own best lap time is the only competition I plan on.
So. Gonna listen to my own advice and just try and put in consistent, technical laps. The hard part is going to be sticking to that and not getting drawn into wheel to wheel challenges.
That said, I'm looking forward to how everyone's race goes. Sounds like there'll be some fast cars out there. I expect it'll be another fine show!

Hey come on Mirfee, got to think positive. Here is a lap I did for this circuit.

This is a good image of the circuit layout with corner names (disregard the speed & gear):

Re: Magny-Cours GP Lap Times
Thanks Rocket, but I actually am being positive. My point is that I really overestimated my skill in this game, and *that* is what's been frustrating me. By adjusting my goals to something attainable for now, I have something to look forward to, rather than killing myself trying to race well outside my current limits.
I have more to learn than I thought. So that's my plan for now. Solid, technical racing with a focus on besting myself.

Re: Magny-Cours GP Lap Times
I tried the Alfa right after last week's race, and was lapping in the 11's. If I can do that at 6am I KNOW I can go faster. The balance of that car if quite good for this track.
ps - i hate magny cours, always have always will

Re: Magny-Cours GP Lap Times
I must have been on drugs to post my single 2:09+. I don't know how I ever broke 2:10. Best I can manage in *any* car is mid 2:10's.
That's in everything but the Jag.
I'm gonna show up on raceday in a Saleen 'import' from GTR2.
