    Magny-Cours GP Lap Times

So what kind of times are you guys getting on the track?

I started getting a few good run around 2:09 with a Falcon and a Mustang w/ 22 laps of fuel but most of my laps seem to be around around 2:11.

With the Mini I've flirted with 2:09, but mostly I've been cozy around 2:11 - 2:12. I'm still tweaking and practicing. I hope to lower the average a couple seconds.

Definitely feeling more confident this time around. I guess the Mini is just more my cup of whee!

I noticed that the Cortina was doing 2:08 on Semi-Pro. I think most of the cars will be pretty even on this track.

Yeah, I think that any one strength of a given car will counter the weakness of another. And each car really does have a single strength and a single weakness on this track. the Mini and the Mustang are the most extreme examples of this... nimble handling/low power vs. brute force/clumsy control. the Cortina, Alfa, and to a lesser extent Jaguar (forget the Abarth) are fairly well balanced, without extreme strengths/weaknesses.

I don't think any one car will specifically come out on top. It'll come down to comfort with a particular car's traits.

    It'll be interesting.

I did a few full laps in the Cortina and my best was 2:08. Lots and lots of room for improvement with timing though. I don't think the big dogs are going to use all their muscle, but it's hard to tell at this point for sure. When's the next open practice?

Heh. OK. Well... the choices are few, so it won't be a huge surprise.

I did a 20 lap practice today. I've been able to consistantly lapping in the mid 2:07's with a few mid 2:06's using the GTA. Thats what I will be using for the race.

Hey, by the way I founds these cool clips on the net, check it out if you guys have time:
