The Insurgency comes to TG
The Tactical Gamer server has been updated to Beta 2 and we are looking forward to seeing players from across many games come and check it out, again..
This mod has a lot of similarities to other simulation/tactical shooters out there and it's all compiled into the source engine which is an amazing feat. If you enjoyed America's Army, COD, Counter-Strike Source/original/Condition Zero and a few other old school hardcore games then you will most likely enjoy this mod.
It's free it and only requires Half Life 2.

Insurgency Beta 2 has already been released, and is available from FilePlanet. The client files are available exclusively on this link.
Please visit our downloads section to download the server files. We will be adding mirrors as they become ready.

These have been really busy days, and we appreciate all the support received. Thanks for your comments and patience! I played it when it first came out but after a few weeks grew tired of the cramped maps. Perhaps I should give it a try again?

Maps seem to be more spacious and spawns have been reworked to offer more spawn protection. Definitely worth another look. It's come a long way from 1.1

It probably felt cramped due to the amount of people on the server, but they are actually quite large Long Bow. Especially for the source engine.

The new command system and the sargent squad systems seem to be a nice inclusion. Also anyone noticed that you can customise your charater down to the cod piece he is wearing lol!

I just played this the Beta 2 after playing the Beta 1 a couple months ago and I'm surprised how much better it runs. I will definitely be dropping into the TG server more often.

I just tried out Beta 2 last night for 20 minutes and I like the changes I see so far. I think if the server numbers are capped this could be a fun game with some tactics. With too large a player count the game doesn't work for me.
I should qualify the "small map" statement; I have been playing alot of Arma lately so everything feels small compared to it

Yeah everything in arma is huge and realistic. It's realistic here just not as huge. The FPS is better too :P

I had a great game in the TG server last night!
And it seems that with the recent server patch, servers are a lot more stable now (which seemed to be discouraging a lot of players).
