Happy New Year, TG! One of our resolutions this year is to keep everyone up to date on a regular basis of all the happenings inside and outside of our community. Read on for a rundown of some of the events happening this week. Send a PM to Evo<^|SiNz|^> if you have an event you'd like to see here.

Community News

General News

• You may have already noticed that the award system has been completely reconfigured here at TG. You can display all the ribbons you earn automatically now through your profile settings.

Simulation Games

• Armed Assault Coop action takes place Sunday, January 6 on Server #1.

• Magnum and company are planning on firing up the old SWAT 4 server for some TG-style tactical action this Sunday, January 6. Read the SOP if you'd like to find out more about how SWAT is played here at TG.

Tactical Games

• Sign-up is now open for the inner-community TG Call of Duty 4 scrim. The scrim is set for Tuesday, January 8 and there are still a few slots open, so sign up now if you own CoD4.

• Counter-Strike: Source PCS Lockdown night on Friday, January 4. Fridays are PCSLockdown Day. All day on Friday, January 4 Server 1 will have a password. Please see the announcement in the CS:S forum for more information.

• Project Reality Mod (BF2) password nights this Thursday and Sunday. These nights have traditionally featured very high quality gameplay, and generally reduce the ratio of pubbie minded players to hardcore players significantly. See this thread for more information.

• The PR server has been updated to version 0.7. You will have to update your client if you want to play on the server. The new version can be found in the members download section, which is accessible if you are a Supporting Member.

• Don't forget that Forgotten Hope 2, the anticipated mod for Battlefield 2, is up and running at TG! You can find the mod file in the members download section.

Action Games

• Congratulations to the Team Fortress 2 players here for their 2-0 win in a scrim this weekend against the TFR community!

Game News

• It's "Game of the Year" time... GameSpy puts Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare at the top of its list while GameSpot picks Super Mario Galaxy.

• The open beta for Frontlines: Fuel of War is still open. You can get beta keys from FilePlanet and try to team up with some of the folks here at TG who are participating.

• In console news, Gamestop has put a release date on Playstation 3 blockbuster Metal Gear Solid 4. You can preorder now for the anticipated June 18, 2008 release date, but according to Kotaku, it may not be the best bet.

• A new addition to the Command & Conquer franchise was recently announced. Tiberium is said to be a first person shooter, departing from the series' traditional RTS roots.

Available Now

• Field Ops (PC, Jan. 1) - This game shows some promise as a hybrid RTS/FPS tactical shooter.

• Fistful of Frags - A HL2 modification that takes place in the wild west!
