Will Wright is my hero, ever since that fateful GDC conference where he showed up in a pink tiara and magic wand

I'm glad it's coming to the Mac

I hope multiplayer has you not only competing against each other but able to both micromanage one civilization if you want

Actually, from what I've heard, there isn't going to be any direct multiplayer action. You'll run into creatures/civs created by other people, but they'll actually be controlled by the AI.

yeah in the latest vid I think he stated that it was a single player game, but with an online database it has, other players creations such as creatures, vehicles and even planets can be automatically transferred into your environment.

    not making sense?

"say if I see your planet in my galaxy and decide to blow it up, even though it's destroyed on my PC, for you and everyone else it still exists."

so technically it's not online play.

Does anyone know why the game was delayed so much? My guess is they were paid-off by the console producers so they could get a simultaneous release.

Thanks for that super nice video. I had great fun watching it.
It is very interesting how the question of how complexity arises ties in to the theme of the game itself: evolution.

In a way, perhaps spore will be the best imaginable vehicle for bringing an correct understanding of evolution to creationists.
One of the central discussions is whether complexity can arise from very simple building blocks, with very simple rules.

As a game spore may bring the best innovation to video games since the transfer to 3D. Who cares about dynamic lighting if you can instead have a dynamic world! Physics is only a small part of this.

yeah probably not, but lets not turn this thread into one of those discussions.
