Re: Folding @ Home: TG bands together to advance disease research
You will all fall beneath me as I move up the ranks, but please keep trying. Let's make this interesting.

Re: Folding @ Home: TG bands together to advance disease research
If I wanted to compromise all of the computing power in the house, I can put 3 desktops with 2.6GHz+ dual core processors on the job, a 1.6Ghz Atom single core, as well as two GeForce 8 series GPUs and my 4870....

Oh but our electric bill is high enough, and I need the horsepower on my desktop as it runs my work computer in a virtual machine workspace, need to encode the video on the DVR reasonably, and I think I would piss off my youngest sister if I bogged the family computer down too much and made it run loud."But way back where I come from, we never mean to bother. What's the minimum you need to do the folding? I know my current PC that I'm looking to replace will be sitting around collecting dust, might as well give it a job!

Re: Folding @ Home: TG bands together to advance disease research
See? I told you that I would catch up. Spulat down, now I am coming for Draeh. About 5 more years of continuous folding and you're going down buddy! :P
Actually Spulat has been at the same score for a while so either stopped folding or is folding a huge unit and is about to jump over me again. Which is it?

Re: Folding @ Home: TG bands together to advance disease research
I haven't run my client in a while, I've been dedicating my time to multiple projects with BOINC during the waking hours (10% CPU max). The DVR tends to make a lot of noise when the CPU and video card fans ramp up to to FA@H, too, and it gets loud sometimes. Also I've been trying to keep the power usage down a bit to help with the power bill in the house, so it's not running on any computers right now.
Once it warms up, it'll ease and I can keep it going a bit."But way back where I come from, we never mean to bother. We don't like to make our passions other peoples' concern." -Dar Williams

Re: Folding @ Home: TG bands together to advance disease research
I can't get the client to run anymore on my PC. I've un-installed/re-installed it a couple times to try to fix it, but I just get a Windows error message when I click on the icon. Can't figure out what's wrong with it.
