Dawn of War II, Coming soon to PC.
www.dawnofwar2.com head over and take a look for yourself!
I did a search on TG and I couldn't find one post referring to the upcoming sequel to the very successful Dawn of War and it's 3 expasion packs. Dawn of War 2 will continue the story of the Blood Ravens chapter and their never ending quest to rid the cosmos of xenos and the witch. As they attempted to remove the Eldar's foothold on the planet, they failed to see the new threat of the hive mind...
So far all that's been released in player controlled races is the Space marines, Eldar, Tyranids, and Orks. There are new features across the board from customized commanders and levels to new abilities for specialized units such as aerial assault for assault marines.
The multiplayer system will be much like the current system for Dawn of War. The campaign system takes a major indepth turn for a longer stride. Rather then running a tiny small campaign and turning into multiplayer mayhem. The campaign system will take you upon the Blood Raven's personal strike cruiser. Upon this cruiser you'll pick between worlds of battlegrounds. Upon your cruiser, you'll be able to customize your squads as the campaign moves on, making sure not to become unbalancing like the Dark Crusade's system. There will be many more features to choose from in a drag and drop system with many items to pick from for each slot as the game progresses. This'll allow you to custom tailor your squads to your play style and not what the game designers tell you to take. your strike cruiser will act as your mobile platform to launch your assaults, but it will also act as reinforcement platform and artillery support, adding an additional dynamic into this sequel.
The most anticipated part to DoW2 will be the new playable race of the Tyranids. The "Nids" were the most asked for feature in DoW. THQ and Relic were unable to meet the demands of the people due to the limited game engine for the first run. The old engine would have molded the Tyranids into a player race that wouldn't play like a swarm; and match pound for pound like a space marine. Nids are a nasty, slimy, and down right fearsome swarm, from the microscopic to massive herodules to the living hive ships the carry the swarm itself. Think about the stories of the Ultramarines conquest and finding entire planets shrouded in a moving pinkish slime attached to the hive ship. With the Essence 2.0 Engine coming into play for DoW2, this'll allow more dynamic units and armies to be created. This'll allow the Tyranids to act more like they do in the table top game. The units so far unveiled are the Hive Tyrant, Warriors, Carnifex, Termagants, Hormagaunts, Spores, and the Lictor.

Re: Dawn of War II, Coming soon to PC.
Yeah but there is already leaked info about 3 expansions to add in everyone left our from DoW1. I can't confrim the data, but it makes sense. Expansions with wanted races will generate revenue for the future and the and engine will allow better dynamic on mod customizations. So adding in races will be more streamlined compared to the first DoW.
Overall, I can't wait either.

Even though I knew about DoW II for a while ago now, I am still giddy. I loved the first DoW and its expansions, I own many Warhammer 40k novels and if only I had the money, I would have made a table top army

I'm out of my house for 2 days. You can goto gametrailers.com and search Dawn of war 2 and you'll get the entire list of trailers for DoW2.

Re: Dawn of War II, Coming soon to PC.
I still play DoW + expansions (except the last) every Wednesday with a couple of friends. I really look forward to the Tyranids, although it will be coming out about the time I spawn a little mini snooggums so my time will be limited!

We look forward to our investment into our next Imperial Guardsmen. Congratz.

If this were available for x-mas it would've been on the top of my x-mas list.

Re: Dawn of War II, Coming soon to PC.
I enjoyed the first DoW and what little I know about the DoW universe I find very intriguing, I just wish I was a better micro player so I could actually play these as multiplayer...

I'll probably get this. Liked the original quite a lot. I also like the idea of the new campaign.
