A 4th for Civ4!

A 4th for Civ4!!

The 6th Marine Division (|TG-MD6|) IHS is hosting it’s 4th Civilization IV game here at TG.

As with previous games we’ll be using PTBS, or Pitboss as it is called. Pitboss is ideal for the casual gamer since you can do your turn at any point during a 24 hour period. That does make the game go for a long time as a result, but this gives plenty of time to do diplomacy and strategic planning! It also makes the game very friendly for players across all time zones. Civilization IV is also now available on Steam and has been confirmed compatible with TG servers!

The sign up for this upcoming game TG BTS: Fog of War is already open. Target start date is February 22nd. It should be very interesting, as we are going to use a mod developed and written by players of the previous TG Civ4 games. You can view the discussion that has been held on the format for the “Fog of War” game here.

Come one, come all! We’re looking for a full 18 person field in this game. If you have any questions, please PM Bernout.

Civilization IV. Beyond the Sword.

Each to their own. Yes it makes for a very long game but on the plus side it only uses up a small bit of time every day. And it certainly doesn't detract from the turn based strategy goodness that is Civ 4.

Just as a quick follow on note here for anyone who is interested...depending on the stage of the game you're looking at around 5+ minutes per day. Our games so far have been lasting around 9 months. If you're someone who would have trouble making a daily commitment like that then you can always find a buddy to run the nation with you.

I have watched the threads and saw the players participating with success so don't take that the wrong way. I just find I really get into the game and prefer to play it out over a shorter period like a week or couple days.

Anyway, hope this goes as well as the rest!
