Dragon Rising Servers coming to TacticalGamer!

Coming Soon to TacticalGamer!TacticalGamer is pleased to announce its support of Dragon Rising in the form of dedicated servers for both stock and hardcore game modes!

North of Japan, Skira Island is a place mired in centuries of conflict. First colonized by China in 1409, the isolated island has seen centuries of conflict, and has been a disputed territory since World War II ended.Officially, it falls under the sovereignty of the Russian Federation, but a U.S. and Japanese presence has been there following the discovery of extremely rich oil fields.
The Year is 2010, and China's thirst for oil has become insatiable. On September 23rd at 0800 hours, under the guise of ensuring his people's prosperity, General Zheng ordered an airborne division of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) to execute a lightning invasion, claiming Skira Island and it's rich oil fields for the People's Republic.
Following months failed emergency peace-talks, the Russian Federation requested U.S. military support. On May 12th, 2011, the USMC answered the call. If swift victory can be achieved on Skira Island, perhaps a full-scale Russo-Chinese war can be avoided. "Are you ready?"

The original OFP aimed to be a true military simulator, and directly lead to the eventual development of the ArmA series. Although it shares part of its name with the original, Dragon Rising takes a slightly different tack. While it still places a high premium on realism and immersion [e.g. bullet-drop, speed-of-sound modeling, no revives, etc.], Codemasters also considered balance, performance, and general playability when making some decisions. Although we've yet to play it, the pace and style of Dragon Rising appears to have a mix of CoD4 and Project Reality.
OFP:DR features single-player, mutli-player and 4-player coop-campaign game modes. The gamplay spreads over 85 square miles of island. The environment appears to be a primary character in the game, featuring 25 mile view distances, 24-hour cycles, geo-accurate flora, and an incredibly immersive visual and auditory presentation.

Re: Dragon Rising Servers coming to TacticalGamer!
On console it will be 8vs8, with each soldier controlling 3 AI - so 32 vs 32 total. On PC it's 32-player for MP (I think)... 16vs16. Then, from what I hear, mods and custom missions will be able to have more than that. (up to 63 moving things.. soldiers and/or vehicles)
edit: also - I'm really looking forward to the 4p campaign in hardcore mode! Apparently you can save your progress and the four of you can resume playing another day! If it's anything as intense, immersive, and team-building as L4D expert-coop, it's going to be a blast!!

Re: Dragon Rising Servers coming to TacticalGamer!
This is awesome news
can't wait to get on the battlefield with you guys

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men.

On order from Play.com Uk £17.99, looks a bit more accessible than Arma 2 for me and hopefully a bit more 'fun'.
