DLC and Patch coming soon for OFP:DR

Update: According to a Telegraph interview with Sion Lenton, executive producer on Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, a patch and downloadable content are both scheduled for release in the coming weeks! Stay tuned for more details!

"We’ve got some very ambitious plans with DLC – our first pack is coming up in a matter of weeks. We’ll also have title updates coming up because once the game’s out there, we’ll need to get feedback from the people who are playing it, and if need be make a few adjustments and tweaks.

Our team are already prototyping all sorts of stuff to be released as DLC and we’re really excited about it. It’s a really different type of market now; I remember five or six years ago, you’d get a game, finish it, put it back on the shelf and that was it. But now it’s almost as though the game’s release is just the beginning, really. Ours is a game that lends itself very well to expansion – there will be weapons packs, map packs – all sorts of things we can do to get our product out there."

no word... but there's a mega post on the official forums... and people did point this out from the back of the box:
so maybe there was originally intended to be dedi files, but they couldn't get them done in time?

Looks like they're focusing on issues with current build before starting on any 'new' features, including dedicated server files. It's the right move on their part, but disappointing. I have to keep telling myself that the game has only been released for less than a week and to be patient

I can assure you we have not been ignoring you, we have been dealing with issues on a priority basis and obviously the connection issues amongst other things have been top priority over the last 120 hours.

I hear the calls but cannot promise anything at this stage, its not under development right now. More news if that changes

Patience is easier garnished with an established developer... unlike another that "disappointed" us in the near past...

I was hoping to own this title by now... its just not in the cards until November.

Re: DLC and Patch coming soon for OFP:DR

CM just needs to confirm that dedicated servers will be supported in the near future. People will stop making threads about it and just sit back and wait for the files. Right now it 's still unsure whether or not they will be supported and that 's what makes most people angry/disappointed... especially if they DO POST NEWS about DLC.

Use of the Super Cobra and Wepon attachmeants

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to be able to use the Super Cobra gunship, and other vehicles the U.S.M.C. use. Aswell as attachments for the small arms. And I would also like to see the LAV's, Tanks, and light skinned vehicles handle better, And make Airstrkes, use of the Javilan AT system, and Artty more available on multiplayer maps

Hmmm, I remember Sion said the patch would be out before the end of oktober... why am I not surprised.

I believe BIS released two patches for ARMA 2 in the first month after release and they had a lot more to fix. CM can't even get one patch done in a whole month... pathetic.

Re: DLC and Patch coming soon for OFP:DR

Why take two patches to do what one should do? It still sounds like the PC comes first as it doesn't take 3rd party permissions and all in all there is a lot less to fix in this release than most the ones I've purchased. As long as I don't see Thanksgiving come and go and with some of the DLC already available it looks like things are on pace.
