Re: Modern Warfare 2 - The Boycott and You

Blizzard is part of activision who are the ones publishing COD6.. and the acta/blizz CEO seems to out for money and damns anything that gets in the way, including gamers.

Check the date on the link. We've all seen this and this, most of all, fueled the petition.

Re: Modern Warfare 2 - The Boycott and You

There are so many games now and until we stop buying all these consolized crap games. save your money and buy the games made for PC, the only way these can change is reward games made for the PC strengths, the games can still be on console but if they totaly shaft the PC then stop buying their games.

Besided MW is just one of a number of great games coming this winter, its most likely going to be way to short in single player anyway and 60$ bucks for first person shooter on PC is just greedy. I will save my money.

This is sad.

One does wonder what the future of communities like this one will be in a few years if these idiots have their way.

I hear the calls but cannot promise anything at this stage, its not under development right now. More news if that changes

For all I know, this can be a trick to make more sales... maybe they 'll give us more info with the rest of the update and patch news tomorrow.

My opinion on this matter:

I 've seen many great series ruined by consoles (Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, OFPDR, etc... to name a few) and it 's a real shame. All these games are now being dumbed down for consoles so the devs can make more money. CM promised that the PC version of OFPDR would be developed seperately from the consoles but I and everyone else knows that 's complete BS. The pc might support higher resolutions and anti aliasing but the menu and online part have clearly been developed with the consoles in mind. Just like the lack of joystick support and anti cheat.

This trend is a real disaster for pc gaming and I 'm happy that we still have Valve to fill some of our needs.

One other thing... was actually the Xbox360 version of COD2 that made its appearance on the internet this weekend (one week before the official release) and not the pc version...

that sounds like a mocking more than choosing not to buy it.... Who would literally cry over a game that really didn't make it in the pc last time it was released... So I ask you my fellow PC gamers will you still play a product that is still faulty or would you play games that actually is worked on and made better?

I hate to say this but this is a turning of a tide. What I would do if I was you is tell Valve, And Dice to stay with the dedicated servers. They always want tips on how gamers want their games. they don't go off there mind thinking what an average gamer would want that's the fault IW fell for. They went off what 360 and ps3 gamers wanted than go off of what PC gamers wanted also.

My advice take part in the opinion building share what you think you want the multiplayer to turn out into and always get your hands on a early multiplayer demo or beta. Without a beta the game might as well be canceled.

Hate to say this but some gamers on console are making the pilgrimage to PC since there is no dedicated servers. They got what they want....

I hate to point fingers but I BLAME MICROSOFT FOR THIS! They should of just made it a 360 exclusive instead of making it for ps3 or pc. Microsoft and its gamers had the majority say on this.

Re: Modern Warfare 2 - The Boycott and You

As posted in this thread about Battlefield Heroes, it appears as though DICE has decided to poke IW in the eye over the dedicated servers flap.

Lets just hope that when BF:BC2 finally arrives, DICE remains loyal to us or this little jab will most definitely come back to haunt them.

EDIT:
ID is heading in the same direction as IW for its upcoming title RAGE...

Quote:
John Carmack, co-founder and technical wizard of the developer, says the company doesn’t plan to support dedicated servers for the multiplayer component of “Rage,” id’s upcoming new action game.

“It’s not cast in stone yet, but at this point no, we don’t think we will have dedicated servers,” he says.
