I have never met Counter and do not play POE but heart goes out to his Family to lose there dad at any time let alone during the holidays. I only pray that that they can do their best get get through this trying time and hope that their future holidays can become a time of remembrance and celebration for them not a time of sorrow.

I used to eat paint chips. Now I just drink the paint because I couldn't find a salsa that went well with the chips and they were dry =)

Re: Counter_Ops
Bear, do you (or anyone else) have contact info for the family? Lets pass the hat around here and do something for our fallen friend's wife and boys. If everyone pitches in $5, $10, $20... even just a buck... I assume we missed the funeral, but we can still send a card, signed by all of us, with a gift check to help with christmas.

Re: Counter_Ops
For those that didn't know Counter; he was Marine, Gulf War I Vet., Husband, Father, avid fisherman, hunter, gamer... all-around good man. Cheerful, jolly, skillful, teamplayer, well-respected squad leader and great teammate. He was a big man, yet never belittled anyone. The class he showed earned him respect from all.
Soon after Counter joined TG he became an Irregular |TG-Irr| where he recruited me and many others. He and Axxis taught many of us Irregs and independent players the TG way of tactical gaming and fairplay - with his uncanny sense of humor and leadership everyone wanted to join Counter's squad for an epic time of battle and fun. Then Counter joined the prestigous |TG-71st| Squad and further promoted Tacticalgamer with players of all backgrounds and nations. He really enjoyed the many scrimms, map-pack nights and playing with everyone here at TG. I'd say his personality was magnetic, with a light hearted sense of humor that lightened the tense moments and really made everyone laugh and feel welcomed. Counter then joined a new venture with the One-Niners |TG-19th| where we began trying new games like Operation Flashpoint 2, and looked forward to many of the future games to come - like BF3, BF1943...
After playing with Counter just last week, and speaking to him just before the surgery, his passing is a shock that has left many, including myself, stunned and sad. His last text to us from the hospital Sunday was he felt ok, but he was really sore. I was expecting him to call me from the hospital, as he's done in the past, complaining about the food and how eager he was to get home and play with us online again. Counter lost his brother earlier in the year and shared his loss with us. He really thought of his fellow TG'ers as friends.
My condolences and prayers go out to Counter's family and friends. May his memory be eternal as we remember the joy, fun times and friendship he gave to all those that knew him.
Save a spot for me in your squad up there buddy, and keep throwing those medic bags and shock paddles down to me... Zip

Re: Counter_Ops
I never knew Counter and never had a chance to play with him. PoE was something I considered playing but, sadly, did not. After having read about Counter, I feel that perhaps I should have reconsidered PoE and given it a shot, if only to get to know the awesome person that he was.
It is funny how the loss of a TG member can bring the whole community together, no matter what game we play. We all share a love of the values of the community and all strive to uphold them, and I think that Counter did an exemplary job of it. His love for the community and all who are a part of it is reflected in the glowing accolades that everyone here has provided. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in all of us.
Counter has been called home to his eternal rest and reward. From the sounds of things, he lived a good and full life and touched many. I hope that his example will live on and that it will never be forgotten.:madsmile:Captain, 8th Mercenary Division:madsmile:
