The return of Counter-Strike to Tactical Gamer!
I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting this moment in time. Tactical Gamer is pleased to announce that we have launched our Counter-Strike Source server! We have a long way to go to get back to the organizational level we had in our younger years. But the first step is done!

In the coming days we will be refining our server settings, researching the availability of third party admin tools, and assigning a new admin team for this new game. So go get out your credit cards and pre-order Half-Life 2 via Steam and you will get instant access to this new version of Counter-Strike!

Thank you for setting up this server and giving this game another go at Tactical Gamer. I'm eager to see what we can make of it.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Did you pre-order it through Steam or through a local/online retailer?

is this a new counterstrike that will run with half life 2, because i have 3 copies of half life and not one of the cd keys work for me at all... ill buy hl2 if that will sort it out?

Yes, this is a new game based on HL2. Just like the original CS was a modified version of HL, CS:S is a modified version of HL2. You won't need a HL key at all, AFAIK.

Just FYI, there are no 3rd party admin tools only the rcon like stuff.
They havent released the HL2:SDK so mod makers and admin tool makers like amx and amxx cant do anything.
