Re: Battlefield 1942 / Desert Combat Night!

Question about server rules:

1. Non-capturable base bombing runs: Out? (What about taking out specific AA, missle and artillery targets?)
2. Non-capturable base sniping (into): Out?
3. Non-capturable base sniping (out of): Out?
4. Non-capturable base parachuting in to steal vehicles: Out?

Basically, you should stay away from non-capturable bases and get out of them ASAP to play the game if they're YOUR non-capturable base. Right?

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but your last statement is your best bet. We understand that there are times when it is unavoidable and you have to eject out of a smoking aircraft and that you may land in or close to a non-capturable spawn. There may also be times when you are in the middle of a dog fight and fly over an enemy's non-capturable spawn. It is easier to just avoid the enemy non-capturable spawn all together. That way there is no grey area.

You will be warned first of course if you are in violation. We are not all boot happy admins, except Apo.

Cool. What about people using non-capturables as shields for the artillery? Or the bases that have missles? Is it ok to go specifically after those? Just want to make sure I'm clear on what the rules are.

If someone is directly attacking you via artillery and/or a Patriot/SA missile system you are more than free to attack that target wherever it may be. This includes uncapturable bases. It is the only exception to the rules regarding entering or attacking an uncapturable base.

It is also my understanding that after eliminating the threat, you are to vacate the non-capturable base ASAP. That's assuming you had to go into or near the base to eliminate the threat.

Well, I WAS going to play, but I can't find the CD. I hate that, as how can I be expected to find a CD I haven't used in months or years.

And it seems that the server won't let me run a NO-CD crack.

Re: Battlefield 1942 / Desert Combat Night!

Good times! I hope next week gets an even larger turnout. I'm going to post in the alt.games.battlefield newsgroup and see if we can't at least get some fresh targets. There's also a clan that started in that newsgroup in a manner very similar to the way TG started: [AGB] (A Gaming Brotherhood aka alt.games.battlefield) I would go ask them, but their clan is huge.
