    Tactical Gamer joins the GameSurge IRC Network!

    Tactical Gamer has now joined the GameSurge IRC Network! We have completed the registration for our channel and have integrated a Java based IRC client into the web site. You can join in on the conversation either by clicking on the "IRC Chat" link in the top navigation bar and selecting "Connect" or via a traditional IRC client such as mIRC.

    What is IRC? Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a world-wide network that allows you to converse with others in real time via text. IRC is structured as a network of Internet servers, each of which accepts connections from client programs, one per user. Sometimes described as like CB radio for the Internet, IRC channels (or chat rooms) tend to be dedicated to specific topics of textual conversation.

    If you use the Java based IRC client in the top navigation menu, you won't need any additional information. It will find the server, connect, and set your nickname all automatically. If you are using a third party IRC client, you will need the information below:

    US IRC Server: irc.us.gamesurge.net
    European IRC Server: irc.eu.gamesurge.net
    Server Port: 6667

    Channel: #TacticalGamer

    When I try to connect through the java based client, it says the site certificate is not signed or something... You vouching for it? :-)

    Great news!

    Unfortunately the java client doesn't work for me. The window has
    "Chat Powered by:vBXirc 2.5.2
    [ - Contact Us - Tactical Gamer - - ]"
    and a close window button but nothing else.
    Using both Opera 7.54 and IE, Win XP SP1.

    I am using Trillian to connect to the channel anyway, but I thought you might want to know.

    Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.
