    Call for Game Reviews/Reviewers

Most of you are not aware that we have a forum devoted exclusively to Game Reviews:

    http://www.tacticalgamer.com/game-reviews/

The reason I can make this generalization is due to the paucity of reviews contained there.

So as Cheif Editor, I'm turning to the community for aid in filling out the Game Reviews forum.

The Game Reviews forum should be a database, a collective resource, that spotlights games that would be of interest to other Tactical Gamers.

If you have a game or game mod that you think should be reviewed, current or otherwise, write the review and PM it to me.

I'm just going to play copy editor, and figure out the scheduling of the reviews so that everyone gets their time in the front page spotlight.

Keep in mind that the Reviews have to have a Tactical Gamer bent. The game may be perfectly fine as a standalone, but if it doesn't promote or fit in with our teamwork ethos, its not going to go into the Review section.

So if you've been sitting on the ultimate Battlefield 2 Review, or have a essay that Diablo 2 is a great teamplay title, it's time to share it with the Tactical Gamer Community.

If you'd like to become part of Content Development here at Tactical Gamers, consider this part of the application process. The best reviewers will be invited to join the team.

Tactical Gamer...the only gaming site where you'll find the word "paucity" used in a sentence!

Why restrict it to tactical games? I mean, this is a gaming community, and the fair share of us don't play tactical games exclusively. Restrict the games you host to tactical games sure, but let us review whatever we like to play? You know, freedom of speech and all that? Otherwise I'm thinking the review section is going to stay very dead, simply for lack of material to review.

Tactical Gamer's niche is team oriented games, and since the game reviews section is tied to the front page, we want that spotlighted.

That said, maybe you are thinking a little too narrowly about what a "Tactical" game is.

We have flight and tank sim players (T-72, Falcon 4.0AF), RPGers (Neverwinter nights, World of Warcraft), and RTS gurus here (Warhammer 4evah!).

The one thing all those games have in common is that they can be played as team. Whether they have that inherently, or can be pushed in that direction via judicious application of SOPs is immaterial. So long as they can be played in a manner which suits Tactical Gamers, it's review-worthy.

There is nothing to say that a review can't be both single and multiplayer as well. For example, a review of the F.E.A.R. Multiplayer demo can sit beside, or be included in a review of the recent singleplayer demo.

So with that in mind, there is no real lack of material to review. Simpy pick a relevant demo, a mod, or a game, and submit it!
