    Exclamation Americas Army v2.6 update...

ATTENTION ATTENTION... quiet down men (and women)...

Americas Army has released their newest update v2.6. You can either download the full game or a patch from 2.5 to 2.6 at any of the links on the official page:

    http://www.americasarmy.com/

Supporting Members of Tactical Gamer can download the 2.5 to 2.6 patch from our download page.

Our main man, Apophis, was on the ball and almost as soon as the news was posted, our own honor server was updated.

Playing in TG on our own server REQUIRES v2.6.

In this new version is two new multiplayer maps/missions, a number of tweaks and fixes, and a couple of browser/Buddy tools.

The two maps are titled "Dusk" featuring the 75th Rangers, and "Border" featuring the 172nd INF.

    Dusk:
"In this active and challenging mission, enemy forces have ambushed a convoy that was transporting a friendly Resistance leader carrying highly sensitive intelligence reports. Radio contact confirms that the Resistance leader is located in an abandoned building. A squad from the 75th Ranger Regiment must locate the Resistance leader and escort him safely to an extraction point for exfiltration. The construction of the new Dusk mission is another of a popular genre of America's Army missions - the VIP rescue mission, and maximizes the use of America's Army's unique use of random spawns and objectives to greatly vary the experience. "

    Border:
"In the explosive action of the Border mission, America's Army players must infiltrate the base of operations of a small known terrorist cell. Intelligence reports confirm that the terrorists are planning synchronized bombing strikes at several different civilian landmarks and that high-level sensitive information (Precious Cargo) pertaining to these lethal strikes is being kept at this operations base. A squad from the 172nd Sep. Infantry BDE must secure the precious cargo located in this border village and then proceed safely to the extraction point."

Check out the mission intel and screenshots here:

So download, and get your butts on our server again.. admins will be featuring the new maps for the next few days as much as possible for testing and newness fun.

I really like playing BF2, especially on the city maps like Karkand. Do you think that I would like playing this game?
Chris: Dad, I tried to go to school but this guy won't let me.
Peter: Oh yeah? Him and what army?
    Chris: The U.S. Army.
Peter: Oh, that's a good army.

AA is less frenetic than BF2. Stuff hurts (a lot) and dying means staring in spec for a while. For me, the emphasis is on the little things like making sure you check corners (as opposed to BF2 where the emphasis was more on the bigger goals like cap a flag, regardless of cost).

I'll say that if you like GR, you'll certainly like AA. BF2 to AA might not be your cup of tea, if it's BF2's pace that revvs you up.
