Re: Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 Comes to Tactical Gamer!
Hopefully, it won't.
VoIp will also public, team, and local (team) voice communication. This will allow players to communicate team-relevant information to everyone on that team, or keep it locally if it's just relevant to their specific squad/group (such as a tank crew).

Why isn't that graphic linked to their web page?
Sounds like a cool game, but without a link to their page, I'll never get to see it!

Sweet. I loved the mod and this should be way better, especially here at TG.

Re: Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 Comes to Tactical Gamer!
Seems like a lot of people are going all in on a game I've never even heard of. Can anyone describe the "gameplay" in a bit more detail?
On the spectrum of realistic FPS:
OFP -------GR------|------ BF2--------- HALO
where would you rate this game?
Is the game objective based or just team DM?

Cool I'm in.. and for the record I played Halo for 15 minutes and deleted it. That game is so overrated and confirmed I will never need to buy a console if that is what is considered a killer app for xbox.

Re: Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 Comes to Tactical Gamer!
I've spent the evening looking for specific info about the game....the more I read the more I'm impressed. Too bad I can't watch the trailers at work...I watched one as I was heading out the door and I'm pretty sure I saw a soldier atomized by an artillery barrage.
The end of this short write-up stresses the importance of working together in Red Orchestra...
Alan Wilson [quote] "...[T]he whole business of encouraging teamwork runs right through the entire game, down to machine gunners needing people to pass them extra ammo."
Oh Yeah!!

From what I understand this game is based on the Unreal engine. Does anybody know if I will need to buy more than just the Red Orchestra game in order to run it?

It's a stand-alone product. If you buy it over Steam, you'll be ready to go come release day.

Interesting.
I will need to look further into this and perhaps commence with a pre-order.

Re: Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 Comes to Tactical Gamer!
To answer Shiner's question:
I played the original Red Orchestra on the UT2004 engine. The game that this thread is about is not the same game, but from the looks of it, share most of the same qualities. I would say the gameplay is somewhere between DoD and AA. In other words, the pace is slow and quite tactical, with a lot of the "old" ambiance of DoD, except much, much nicer. Comparing the realism of DoD to RO is like comparing a fish stick to a Maine lobster (and that was the original) . I am not sure how respawns are managed, exactly, but I guarantee planning and tactics will play a big part on TG:RO servers . I can't wait.
