New Red Orchestra Screenshots!
With the Red Orchestra release only a few days away and 20+ members of Tactical Gamer playing, there is a lot of excitement about this game around here lately. Personally I haven't had a lot of time to spend playing because of a couple poorly-timed business trips, but the time I HAVE been able to get in has been phenominal.
The game is VERY focused on those of us who prefer tactics and teamwork to run & gun. It is also very realism focused rather than exploit focused, so your success in this game will be measured by your level of communication, teamwork, and tactical ability rather than learning the newest way to exploit the engine to get ahead of the other guy. In short. Most of you will REALLY like this game. I just took a few screenshots from my latest gaming session a few minutes ago. I have put them up in the TG Gallery for your viewing pleasure. The winter environment is quite nice. Out of the beta maps it is one of the brightest. The dynamic lighting really makes the game look and feel real. The maps are pretty expansive and there is a lot of room to move and approach your objectives from different angles. There are also some GREAT ambush spots to take out those folks that make the ever-so-predictable beeline right from one objective to another. Click here to view the full sized images in the TG Gallery.

very nice...this will be a g1, I'm also beta testing. and have it pre-loaded for release.
Funny thou... as a infantry man, I find myself on my belly 80% of the time, lol. Have we got a confirmation on official release yet? |

Re: New Red Orchestra Screenshots!
I'm really excited to have a game that is highly focused on tactics and strategy. Ghost Recon and OFP gave us this type of gameplay, and I'm confident that Red Orchestra will do the same thing. The more I play this game, the more I like it.
It's quite amusing seeing people attempt things like bunnyhopping. It's almost comical. ![]()

Re: New Red Orchestra Screenshots!
What things like bunnyhopping have you seen people attempt?
That seems out of place for a WWII shooter.

It's really out of place in almost every game we have. When you're dealing with human capabilities, bunnyhopping and dolphin diving are as rediculous in a WWII game as they are in games such as BF2 and CS:Source.

Re: New Red Orchestra Screenshots!
As Apophis said, it is hard to do in RO. You lose a lot of your stamina that you need for other things. Bunnyhopping is actually hard to do to be effective.

Re: New Red Orchestra Screenshots!
I haven't even seen anyone trying to bunny hop, the developers put in some good features to try and ward off smacktards. It's nice when a developer actually thinks about those things.
