TG - Vegas or BUST, baby! (Sign-up thread)

The highly anticipated sign-up thread is now here. Here is a breakdown of the suggested, but very flexible, itinerary. Basically, the group is going to stay together as much as possible, with several opportunities to "do your own thang" throughout the weekend. I'd really prefer that if you are looking more forward to the gambling and/or night life times, that you elect to come early one day or stay later a day in order to keep it more TG-focused. We'll naturally be gambling, boozing, etc. but let's not forget we're meeting to spend a little time together too.

With that said, here's the tentative itinerary:

• Thursday, July 27th 2006: Some TG-ers have opted to come a day early. This maximizes the room/flight-rate value. The rates at the Stratosphere (the hotel we've selected) are $50/weekdays and $80/weekENDS. When you sign up, please indicate whether or not your willing to share a room with another TG-er and we'll try to make accomodations. However, with less than 10 rooms reserved, we are not eligible for the discount, so this may change our projected rate. Unless my math fails me, it will still be cheaper to "buddy up" than to reserve more rooms than we need just for the discount. So far, Sassy, Sugar, and Cingular are the ones on the Thursday list (PM me if you want in on it..), and we will probably be gambling for most of this day

• Friday, the 28th: All other TG-ers will come in Friday at some point and we will all meet up for an early dinner around 5pm. We're trying to work out some comps with Strat, but not sure if that will pan out yet. Otherwise, somewhere cheap, good, and accomodating. We'll sit around and BS a bit into the evening; then the night is up to individuals. Good luck gaming!

• Saturday, the 29th: All day LAN gaming! Wizoot! We're renting out a place about 10 minutes from the Strat. We're still working on them to get all the licenses we need for BF2 (which will be the main game played) but they say it will be ready when we get there and I'm not putting down the deposit until it's done. Besides that, they have all Steam and Valve games, and we'll put together a play schedule that suits everyone later. We'll also have intermittent breaks where everyone can do their own thing, but I do want to have at least one "TG-Vegas vs. The World" scrim like we did from Austin. That roxd. They'll also let us bring our own drinks/food, so we'll just set up buffet style and figure out more logistics once we get more info.

• Sunday, the 30th: People will have their own departure times based on their own needs, and that's cool. We'll try to organize a Brunch sometime around noon, though, to say goodbye to each other. Then those who want to go out for another round can have it, you party animals, you!

So that about settles it! Wow, I can't believe this is all coming together. I know we still have three whole months left, but it takes people a while to save and get time off work (suckers!) so I wanted to give plenty of time. However, I do need a cutoff date for those who are DEFINITELY coming, so I can get a headcount for the different venues we're going to try to make. And I need a deposit of about half what the LAN center is going to cost. So here's the deal... I will be collecting a $20 deposit via Paypal from those who are definitely coming. My email is lilcherubx at hotmail. The deadline for the payment is by May 1st Please PM me if for some reason you can't make that deadline and I'll work with you, but I need to know who's for real planning on it, and I need to get that deposit in. Also, let me know if you're planning on bringing your own rig or if you'll be borrowing one at SinCity PC. (Either thing is fine, just need to know.)

Geez - I took that for-granted too when I read that. I think the dates were in the momma thread in the BF2 forum..

The core would be Friday July 28th through Sunday the 30th.. of course some have expressed that they would be attending Thursday the 27th and right now I am planning a stint from the 27th through the 31st.

Hey guys - not to rain on anyone's parade or anything, but please don't hijack this thread with posts of who will NOT be going. I certainly sympathize with you all (I almost wasn't going to be able to make it myself!) but in the interest of keeping things simple, please only post if you WILL be attending and will be sending in your $20 deposit to Sugar by May 1st. There have been other posts where you could voice your woes, but this one should be for the few, the proud, the Vegas TG Lanners!

Dang, wish I could make it guys, but I'll have a new, bouncing baby boy to attend. That and my wife would make sure no one would ever find my body if I abandoned her so soon after a birth . Someone take pictures and for this case, what happens in Vegas, gets posted on TG

C'mon we've got a GREAT place to game (SinCity is really going to hook us up in their house) and good food all around. The hotel is a LANDMARK in Vegas.. Sugar chose well! The hotel rates are fantastic.. and even my wife is letting me attend guilt free (ok.. before you say it perry.. she's NOT trying to get rid of me).

Don't post 'regrets' here.. tell us you are coming.. Let's GO SOLDIERS!
