From the creator of Natural Selection: Zen of Sudoku

Showing off his wide range of gaming chops, Charlie "Flayra" Cleveland (creator of one of Tactical Gamer's longest consectutively-running titles Natural Selection) has made available his new game Zen of Sudoku.

Zen of Sudoku is designed to remove the tedium and difficulty often associated with computer versions of Sudoku by focusing on the calming yet brain-engaging aspects of the game. It has been also been designed to teach basic and advanced strategies, making it appeal to both the novice and the expert alike.

This casual-genre game also serves to directly support Unknown Worlds and its other endeavors, not the least of which is support and progress for our beloved Natural Selection. Indeed, Zen of Sudoku even features art from one of Natural Selection's texture modelers, showing more of the close connection these games share.

Sudoku is a pattern-matching puzzle with one rule: place the numbers 1 through 9 such that there is only one of each in every row, column and 3x3 box. There are many strategies and rules of logic that come out of this very simple rule and are what make Sudoku such a compelling experience. For more information, check here.

Zen of Sudoku is available for trial download, and the full version is available for only $12.95.

Thanks for sharing, Poker. Hopefully Zen of Sudoku will meet the needs of both its players and its publisher.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

Everyone buy this I would, except I'm not exactly a sudoku master. I can barely even spell the thing.

That looks really cool. I have passed on the whole Sudoku craze, but those screenshots trigger my "oooooh shiney" reflex.

Interesting. I was addicted to sudoku when I was working consistently (between that and TG that was 2 hours of otherwise productive worktime right there!) but never had much luck with computer versions. I'll give this a shot.

I've downloaded, and played the game. I did enjoy it, and will most likely be purchasing it.

Yes. It's a deathmatch mod of Sudoku.

OK, no it isn't, but man, that's an amusing thought.

The aliens have three boxes filled up already and they've put a nine in subsector!

I'm dropping a two in double, try to intercept their line!

Perhaps it's not deathmatch, but it has hax built in!

I don't know if it's a problem with just the trial version, or what, but you can go to "numbers mode" and just start clicking around until your numbers turn yellow, which means it's in the proper place...

Folks, there are free Sudoku games out there that are better than this one.
