Point of Existence 2 Coming to Tactical Gamer!

As many of you already know, Point of Existence is a mod for Battlefield 2. This marks an exciting time for Tactical Gamer, since it's the first Full Conversion mod for Battlefield 2 and suits our unranked servers perfectly.

The PoE2 team have done an amazing job with their mod, set in modern-day Eastern Europe:

After a long, bloody war in the Sudan, the governments of the United States and Russia struck an uneasy cease-fire over the fate of Africa and its burgeoning industry. This peace would be short lived, for to the north a new conflict was brewing. Ukraine, a former satellite state of the Soviet Union, sought to gain back the power from which it once reveled in.

Features include:

Squad-controlled artillery. No more point-and-click. Artillery will need to be positioned and called using spotters.
UCB death-zones. The ability to create an restricted zone in the UCB which limits the time opponents can spend there, inflicting damage if they stay too long.
Shoulder-mounted Stinger missiles.

The PoE2 team are following this schedule with releases, so keep your eyes peeled for updates:

Tue, Aug 22nd @ 19:00 PST : Release Server Files
Thu, Aug 24th @ 19:00 PST : Open Passworded Torrent Release
Sat, Aug 26th @ 12:00 PST : Release Download Links & Torrent Password (set reminder)

All of these dates have been added to the Tactical Gamer Community Calendar.

The client will be available for Supporting Members in the Mod Download Section (only visible to SMs) as soon as we are able to get them, so be on the lookout!.

The BF2 admin team have already set up our very own 64 player PoE2 Server which you can access at the following IP:

64.34.165.134

The server will be called "TacticalGamer.com - PoE2" in your server browser.

For those who would like to follow the TG update thread you can view it at Point of Existence Updates. You can also see the News Archives at the PoE website.

We are all very excited by this release and look forward to the excellent teamwork opportunities it will present. Great work to the PoE2 team!
