Tactical Gamer News: Back to School Edition
The anguished cries you hear are not just those of the 7 million World of Warcraft addicts that will be inconvenienced this week as Blizzard shuts down many of the US servers for 36 hours, but also those that have the cruel destiny to be chained to a desk listening to some burned out professor drone on about something that noone will ever ask you about.
Yes, it's the return of the College kids in Boston, which sets me to thinking about staying indoors and avoiding the traffic on the byzantine streets of Boston and the equally archaic public transportation.
In order to do that, however, I need fresh gaming news!
Here is what is going on this week:
Tactical Gamer News
Gaming Industry News- Fall of Liberty Announced. Alternative history FPS, set in a Nazi controled US in the 1950s. Could be one to watch.
- Gamers Are So Romantic...
- Savage 1 is now free.
- Dark Messiah of Might and Magic gets a Steam treatment.
- Timeshift delayed until 2007. Vivendi is saying that if the game does not stack up by then, it will not be released.
- Sony will not have anywhere near enough PS3s to go around. Microsoft looks forward to having a great Christmas.
- Strategy First cans GFI, putting development of Jagged Alliance 3, and Jagged Alliance 3D on hold.
- Epic wants to Make Something Unreal, again.
- Red Orchestra OSTFront will get an update sometime mid-month. A complete list of the changes is here.
- Xfire and Blizzard are sponsoring the World of Warcraft Summer Movie Contest. Deadline is September 12.
- Atari gets new CEO, says "We aren't dead yet!"

Have a good week folks!

Re: Tactical Gamer News: Back to School Edition
Nice. Fall of Liberty is now on my top list of "future games to keep tabs on through development list."
And the new FEAR expansion I may not get. FEAR itself freaked me out in new ways (in a very excellent way), but if the hype is to believed, this expansion pack will up the ante. My nerves may not be able to take it, LOL.

If you've ever played through FEAR then you must remember the part where just as you start going down a ladder, the little girl is standing at the top, and when you get down to the bottom, she's standing right next to you. Yeah, that part scared the piss outta me, I'm not going to lie. Another new game to watch for is ET Quake Wars
