I'm looking forward to Monday. I'll check the server occasionally this weekend to see if anybody is around.

just an fyi, its not always fast, but the first patch is available in the same location as the incremental.

I played this today on some pub servers - wow! how fun! I think we should play this retro game more often - might as well if we all install it. I had a blast playing, except for the UCB slaughtering.

When DC was most popular so many moons ago, it wasn't allowed on our server. Hopefully, that will be the case tonight. I am planning on attending tonight so I guess I will see.

Killer McDermott brings up a good point.

The rules on our BF1942/Desert Combat server are quite similar to our BF2 and BF2142 servers.

1) Attacking/Entering the UCB and/or camping the UCB spawns is NOT permissible. This includes UCB bombing runs. The ONLY time it is permissible to assault the USB is if you are being directly engaged by either a SCUD, SAM or mobile artillery piece from within the UCB. Even then, you're cleared to take out the hostile piece and then must return to the flag based objectives.

2) No offensive or disrespectful language.

3) Work as a team and focus on your objectives. Desert Combat is a conquest type game, so you've got flags to capture and I believe all maps in rotation have bleed after you hold 50% of all capturable flag points.

I will admit it, you had my number. You had what 15 kills on me in a row? I finally had to go somewhere else on the map and let some one else get a few kills. On my own defense it was the first time play this game.

Great retro fun, but I wish we played a heli map or two. And no El Alamein -- blasphemy!!

It's really tough kicking it oldschool and not having the commo rose, squads, built-in VOIP. Ya realize how tremendous an improvement BF2 is over 1942.

oh absolutely, no ucb artillery camping etc but im sure there will be no probs there... this is TG....
