This game is buggy as hell and has tons of performance problems... to release an expansion on a defective/unfinished product seems deceptive or at least negligent.

The game has progressed nicely. Remember all of your problems, are not everyone's problems. Also Evolution is extremely buggy. Many other missions play out much better and have far less noticeable issues.

Switch, do you play BF2 at all? This is the same kind of comment I remember from when BF2 was first out. It's very much improved, though even now there are buggy issues and some call it defective/unfinished. The expansion pack is there to give greater enjoyment to the current game. You have to expect that they will continue to fix it.

I guess I don't like paying 50 bucks to be a beta tester :|

Re: Armed Assault - Queen's Gambit

Bf2 was far more buggy and continues to be then Armed A was. Granted every single game has issues, thats why they make patches. And lucky hit it right, this isnt to fix everything its to add more content to the already amazing engine and game play.

Re: Armed Assault - Queen's Gambit

I don't believe I have ever seen a game as supported via free patches as this game is. Yes BI doesn't have the resources of an EA testing department, but then again EA produces many titles with as many, if not more game-breaking issues. The fact is TODAYS games are FAR more difficult and complex to program then games of 10 years ago.. to expect games to be produced error free in an era of exponentially increasing development costs and the resulting pressure to release early to cover these costs is naive.

The last patch fixed over 800 issues.. and sure it created more, but you have to acknowledge the developers for this game try harder.

Releasing an expansion is a necessary step to cover costs and it will support further patch releases that will continue to improve the game.

Instead of arguing about whether this game rocks or sucks can someone point to a website that gives details on this expansion? Some pictures possibly?

Not a whole lot of info about it right now. But I should be getting some screenshots shortly.

Re: Armed Assault - Queen's Gambit

I am really interested in seeing how they are going to get this expansion pack to integrate with the existing player base of Arma. I am a bit worried that it can lead to a fragmentation of a community that is still in its initial phase.

I really hope this pack is delayed until medio Q4, with the mistakes they made with all the different incompatible international versions(and subsequent patches). Another expansion pack could have a negative impact on the Armed Assault world community.

They did this pretty seamlessly with OFP once they got all the versions normalized. I don't think they should have much of a problem.
